I just joined Xbox Ultimate so I could stream games through the Cloud on my Windows 10 laptop. I use PS Now and it works well. Unfortunately, Xcloud refuses to let me stream any games because I am currently in North Africa, an unsupported region. (I signed up for Ultimate with my American credit card, but I’m not living in America right now.)
I heard that some people are able to use xCloud by logging on with a VPN, hitting the Play button, then disconnecting the VPN. I use Windscribe and it has not helped at all. I tried several USA servers, France, Germany, Canada… but the Xbox app keeps saying Your Region Is Not Supported for Cloud Gaming.
My graphics card is a little old, so I don’t want to download massive games like Forza 5 that won’t run well on my oldish laptop. I joined Ultimate specifically for the Cloud gaming option.
Please help?? Anyone gotten to bypass this using Windscribe or some other VPN? I already have a GamePass Ultimate membership, the problem is accessing Cloud Gaming from an unsupported country/region: (north Africa)
Update: It works now. I disabled all running Gaming services, then started the VPN (Windscribe), then opened the Xbox app. Then I turned off the VPN before starting the game.
Go to Settings>Application>Startup and DISABLE Xbox services.
Logoff and login again on windows, or restart windows, but is more simple to logoff/login.
Don’t open Xbox app yet.
Open your preferred vpn service that connect to the closest supported county.
After vpn connection is active, check your ip on myip.com. If your ip is changed, now it’s time to open Xbox app. It should work now. If it works, you can close vpn connection and return to your normal ip.
Start any game you like. If you reboot or logoff, you will need to repeat step 5, 6 and 7.
Thing to keep in mind: if you open Xbox app and don’t have an supported ip class (belonging to a supported county), it’s no longer works, no matter if you open vpn after you open Xbox app.
The problem is that Xbox services that start with windows and check your ip before you open Xbox app. Disable it will give you the opportunity to open vpn BEFORE Xbox services see your ip. The good thing is this check is happening only on first opening of Xbox app. After that you can open and close Xbox app without any problem.
Yeah, unfortunately they don’t support every region because their server have to be close to you for low latency. They also have to implement pricing, infrastructure and comply to local laws, so it’s more than a server problem.
You probably have a good latency to Europe, maybe they’ll expand into North Africa soon.
Use the browser version with a VPN (even Windscribe will work)…not the Xbox app.
Though you can use the app too. You need to disable all Xbox startup services from Task manager, reboot your machine, start VPN and then open the Xbox app. Turn off VPN once you see the Play button enabled.
Can I ask people this?
So i’m using PC and want to subscribe Xbox Game Pass but i’m not from support regions.
Could I buy a Xbox Game Pass Global Code on eneba and active it? Do i need to change my Store region to US ? Cuz when i read on enena it said can not be active in my region.
I’m trying to play Xbox Game Pass games on my android phone. I have connected VPN (Germany), but in the app there are two options “Console and Pc” There is no clock option. What should I do?
Can you help me i have xbox one s have no pc how can i play cloud gaming i bough game pass ultimate and when i try cloud gaming it says that my curent region is not supporting cloud gaming even tho i set my location United Kingdom. Pleas help.
I have disabled ‘xbox app services’ in startup. but there is another ‘gaming services’ that launch in boot and have no option to disable it. I have tried every step and it doesnt work, it works on the browser but not on the xbox app. any help?
Hey thanks for explaining it so detailed but it didnt work i tried using tunnelbear and windscribe also i changed my region to US that didnt work its been like 2 years since this post but i hope you can help
what page to refresh? I use the Xbox app for Windows 10. Are you sure Tunnelbear will work? cause Windscribe didn’t.
I already see the list of all games. I can even click Play, everything is there already. But the games won’t actually loud, it says Region Not Supported for Cloud Gaming.
If you want cloud gaming you need an Ultimate membership. You’ll also need to use a VPN to sign in every time you want to play from an unsupported region. Your image quality will probably not be good if you don’t have a server near you.
