Meraki to Meraki. OP’s setup indicated that he/she has Meraki everywhere. Meraki to non-meraki peers is not great, client VPN also not great, but Meraki to Meraki SD-WAN setup is absolutely perfect.
To answer your question, yes, Meraki features are seriously limited in almost every aspect.
Shit didn’t realize, thanks!
Thanks, that suddenly clicked for me. The controller can be anywhere as long as it’s reachable.
For the Dream Machine Pro, yes. The other stuff doesn’t. We have the cheapest gateway for the dorms(only 100/10 cable line) with a cloud key in each location.
Yeah, I was in a position awhile back where they couldn’t SNAT in an environment that needed it. That environment that needed to SNAT but couldn’t, also could not forced tunnel to an environment that can SNAT. But the environment that can SNAT can forced tunnel to the environment that can’t SNAT. All devices are Meraki.
You understand that op is not asking to integrate with anything right? I’m biased, I love Meraki, and that’s what I use for all my clients (I’m an MSP). It’s a great product.
You’re right. I’m sorry. I was going to buy a Civic as my daily commuter, but current requirements don’t equal future requirements, so I’ll get a Cadillac Escalade, in case my requirements change.
MX64 is hardly a Cadillac. Under $800 including 3 year license. License cost is about average for a decent product, such as Fortinet, Sophos, etc… If you have 20+ locations you should be using Fortinet, Sophos, Meraki or SonicWALL. You don’t like Meraki, fine, I get it, some people don’t. Calling it shit or Cadillac is just ignorance.
By the way, my customers are very happy with their “shitty” Meraki’s, working beautifully and reliably.
Edit. Also, yes it stops working without a license. However, you should be renewing your support and license with whatever product you are using.
