I’m having an issue with updating Databases for Kaspersky. I am pressing the update button, it seems to go by fairly quickly (8% - 21% - 100%) yet the error is still persisting.
I’ve been reading around that US users are having this issue, but it appears the UK might be having it as well? I’ve tried changing the source to s19.upd.kasperky and dnl-06.geo.kasperky but to no avail.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
I’m in the US, where they’re ended support and supposedly switching us to UltraAV. I checked my subscription on Kaspersky and it was still active, turned on my VPN to Helsinki (Finland) and was able to update my anti-virus database just now.
I asked Kaspersky customer support about the issue, in the case of Canadian users I’d seen post on it, right after the US ban. They said that each instance of it happening to users outside the US would have to be investigated individually to determine the cause.
I’m in the UK too, had Kaspersky Standard and loved it, recently though it stopped updating, only the Firefox extension worked, Android app gone from Play store. I know it’s not Kaspersky’s fault but when Microsoft and Google are American you have no chance, they close UK office too I believe?
Omg, I thought this was a US thing only. Happened to me last night.
Sadly, I tried using Kaspersky’s own VPN and the error persisted after connecting to Mexico, Finland and Germany. I wonder if Kaspersky is just kaput in the UK entirely. (Or I’d have to go looking at Nord/Surfshark)
I think what’s bothering me the most is there’s no “fail” state. It’s not saying anything like “failed to update due to X” or “Download failed” or whatever. The bar progresses and then “Lol nope”
I’m wondering if I should just cut my losses and look for a new AV. This is giving me a headache.
Does this mean I’d have to contact them directly?
Yeah, recently read about the closure of the UK offices.
Not really sure what to do now
I have another VPN, and I have Kaspersky on 3 laptops and still working for me.
Yeah. There may be a UK specific email you could use, though these two worked for me in the US.

Looks like I’ll have to investigate further.
If push comes to shove, I may just have to look for another service.
