UK F1TV Access user wanting to upgrade to F1TV Pro

So I have subscribed to F1TV Access for about 2 years now, and I was hoping to upgrade to F1 TV Pro. However I’m based in the UK. Has anyone been in this position and does using Google Pay + VPN work with the existing account, or would I need to create a new F1TV account? Likewise, I have a Roku, which unfortunately does not support VPNs. Would I be able to watch F1TV Pro on my Roku stick while in the UK? Or do I need to be connected to a VPN every time I want to watch F1TV Pro content?

I went trough the process of trying to upgrade my access account to tvpro using a vpn and it didn’t work. The message i got basically said that i was already registered from a region that could not access tvpro and I could not upgrade. I had to create a new google a/c to register with Pro.

Ah ok. Well if I need to be connected to a VPN, that will likely rule out using the Roku unless the Roku is exempt from geographical restrictions/there’s alternative ways of faking location.

Thank you for the answer! I’ll wait and see if anyone knows anything more regarding the Roku situation and then I’ll give it a shot.

Ah that’s not good. I wonder if at the end of the season I could cancel my access then start of next season move to Pro and avoid that issue by waiting a few months between the end of the access subscription and the start of the Pro subscription. Thanks for the heads up!

I don’t think roku supports vpn installation on the device. I’ve a similar problem in my setup here in ireland with apple TV and it looks like the best option is to get a router that supports vpn’s. My wife doesn’t want our apple TV on a vpn because she accesses local content so I’m looking into a setup of a vpn router on it’s own subnet in the house, connected to the main router for internet access and buy a roku stick which connects though the vpn router.

Sounds like a good idea. I know Rokus definitely can’t have a VPN installed directly on them so a VPN router might be what needs to be done. I’ll take a look into that. Thank you!
