That is my buddy that was listening to the call lol. I gave up in the end.
I had my BIL ask me to dub it down when I was explaining computer operating system differences. He never really uses computers besides his smartphone. Ignorance must be bliss to these people.
Just had someone ask for a simple clean and complete documentation of an operating system. Told them if it existed they would have found it already.
If such a thing existed there would be more copies then the Bible.
Explaining tech is hard, you will get better at it
What’s the deal? Are you NATing between sites or something? Or are you talking about just the NATing for setting up the tunnel?
Yeah, I was using the simplest way of explaining it and their cogs were rusted shut lol.
Once you’ve found that can you go ahead and send me some documentation for how google search finds results next?
Adding ‘y’ to the end of words makes it worky, otherwise explanation no worky.
The tunnel was set up with private addresses while I was out of the office. I was planning on NATing the devices so I wouldn’t have to wait on the vendor to add/remove addresses since our sysadmin have randomly changed their addresses on occasion. I was trying to get that across, but the interface guy just couldn’t wrap his head around it and still kept telling the vendor our server’s private addresses. I think he might have had an off day, though.
For IT ignorance I just default to “The internet is a series of tubes.” for the people that lack a desire to learn and understand.
Nice try Bing, nice try
But the internet is a black box that was shown in IT crowd
