Torguard speedtest?

Does anyone here have torguard? If yes, then how good are the speeds from you? I’d like to hear if you already have it and if you would recommend it for other people. I’m very close to getting it. I know that mullvad is a better choice, but because of money problems I can’t pay 60 a year, otherwise I would have gone for that😄

Hope this help

I use Torguard with Centurylink 40 Mbps line with VPN running on an ASUS router. Common Torguard speed using one of their Salt Lake City server is 37-38 Mbps. Connection is solid. Only downside is they currently no supporting (but working on) split tunneling.

Speeds are good. I have been with them for a couple of years. Keep in mind, these VPNs contract POPs from a third party so you are subject to the whims of that third party. I have found the Eastern US POPs get very congested during business hours. Overall if you have some patience it’s workable if you don’t mind hunting around for a server 8-5 M-F.

Now the bad news. The client absolutely sucks. If it finds an open slot it will connect just fine, if not all mayhem breaks loose. You will get an endless supply of excuses and requests for logs from support. They will blame your A/V or whatever they can come up with. So why is it their client has so many problems while others have none? I don’t doubt the security of their set up.

The good news is I did grab a deal for $15 every 6 months recurring which is hard to beat, that’s why I stick around. They do support WireGuard which is the latest and greatest so it’s not all bad if you don’t mind having to restart your system sometimes while hunting a connection during the busy times.

Without torguard I get 910 mbps down and 460 mbps up.
With torguard I get 700-800 mbps down and ~400 mbps up.

I have tested Torguard however, it was a while ago, but, speeds were very good.

Have a 1000dowm/100up and torguard does 900/100, just check my post history for the speed test as I’m on mobile ATM.

Thank you, very appreciated😄 Do you like it, or would you stay away from it as a new customer?

How much % did you lose on the connection? I’m very familiar to losing up to 50% while using vpns.

I have 500mbps and was getting 420-450mbps using wireguard.

I am currently on torguard the speeds are absolutely great i get the max speed that my isp offers the only problem with them is their app sometimes is laggy. If its for torrenting its a great choice and if it’s for streaming then you have to pay more, there are other vpns for streaming for which you don’t have to pay extra

Not sure why I’d tell you to stay away when I’m using it…:man_shrugging:t6:

I’ve never lost anything remotely near that.

I’ve used 3 different VPNs via Wireguard for torrenting.

They all seem to saturate my 5MB/s connection.

I’m not going to stream with it. How much loss do you get on your connection? Other vpns Ives tried I lost up to 50%. Also does it matter if I have 1gbps internet?

Oh, it’s because I hear sometimes about vpns like “STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN!!!”, but this isn’t the case for torguard?

For 1gbps i have seen torguard speeds in the range of 750-850 . In my case US servers are farthest from my region so in those servers i loose about 30-35% and for regions closer to me its either 5% reduction or none at all. But my internet speed is just 100mbps.
There are no leaks or anything but when you disconnect from a server the app looks like it crashed for about 2 seconds other than that this vpn is good especially for torrenting. Also you can get all their plans at 50% price that’s the reason why i went with this and not mullvad

Is the “Earn it act” going to do anything to this?
