Supermicro and pfsense ftw?
I thought thats what these were meant for in the first place lol
Does watchguard even have any 64bit processors?
We deal with watchguards and Dell sonic walls, I cannot express how much more I like watchguards, but yes for smaller deployments.
I’ve seen this response by so many people, is it weird that I have used them for 3 years and haven’t had this issue once? The only times they’ve been rebooted is for updates or if we had to disconnect power.
I don’t. I don’t have time nor desire to deal with shiny new equipment that does exactly what the running equipment does that two pencil pushers decided I need replace.
it’s that every time we get quoted renewals are always more expensive than brand new equipment.
The comptrollers only see that bottom line. They forget to add in time of going to the datacenter, installing them, configuration, etc.
I am probably going to push towards Virtualization them next renewal.
Better yet, put the new rack underground because gravity is stronger there. Even though the distance is further, the acceleration due to gravity is stronger so the data travels faster. That’s why there are underground data centres. It’s all about speed and adding on to other people’s jokes.
Not to mention the miserable throughput, lack of granular UTM application, poor catchment rate, lack of BGP support and clunky integration into anything that’s not a Meraki device.
Reasons why Cisco FirePower is Cisco Firepower
- It is Cisco FirePower
I’ve had them for over 4 years and the only time something happens is when I’m screwing around with settings I should have left alone.
It was mostly for the older models of 5+ years ago (maybe longer). The traffic would just stop flowing and tech support’s response to fix it would be a reboot. I honestly have no idea what their firewalls are like today but most people that have dealt with them in the past wouldn’t dream of getting them again.
Nah, I’m with you. We’ve been through two generations now and things have always been fine. My only complaint is with Dimension, for some reason our VM has been crashing every couple weeks or so lately, but that’s pure management, the users see nothing wrong. (And supposedly fixed by a new version they release just a couple weeks ago. *Fingers crossed*) If we move it won’t be because the WatchGuards were actually “bad”.
Nope. Definitely BAND!
yeh, but the web interface looks neat.
They must have stepped up their game, because I have had really good experiences with the devices themselves. The support has also been very knowledgeable and helpful to me, I had to learn firebox without the previous administrator being available for questions. So for me it was documentation and tech support. Doesn’t surprise me though, a lot of companies bomb and then do a complete 180 after they realize they can’t survive with bad equipment and bad support.
For what? Because it’s considered spam or irrelevant or something?
And they’re made from milled aluminum! Aesthetics count!
Because its April fools day, anyone that posts get banned.
r/whoosh situation here
LOL! And just to be clear - no one was banned yesterday; it was simply a post flair we put up as a joke. I was hoping that AutoModerator Response would’ve made it clear us mods were taking the piss
