Tiktok not working with vpn anymore?

I live outside the US but for over half a year ive been using a vpn to help my content reach american audiences. It always worked fine with everything properly set up. And by that I mean disabling location services, removing the sim Card and turning on the vpn.
The problem started just now that I got a new iPhone.
So far ive been using Tiktok with the vpn on my iphone 7, but now that i try to use it on my iphone 12 pro max, it doesnt work anymore.
Dont get me wrong, the app works perfectly fine, its just that the vpn doesnt seem to be working on Tiktok particularly, because when I head over to youtube, snapchat or google I can tell it works cause I get ads from american brands, while tiktok keeps showing me content from the country that Im physically located at.
The only difference between my old
iphone 7 and iphone 12 pro max is the iOS version. The i7 is running iOS 14.2 and the i12 pro max is running iOS 14.3. I also checked the app version and its the same one running on both devices.
Aside from that, everything is equally set up. No SIM card, no location services and VPN turned on.

Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue?

Also looking for a VPN for TikTok. Did anyone maybe used vpn with tiktok on an android and have any insights?

Edit: I did some research over the weekend. So it looks like TikTok can work with a VPN. Although, it looks like it is ubanned but I still bought Nord for a year. Might have to refund the subscription lol. Anyways, if anyone is interested I compiled all the info I found into a spreadsheet maybe it will help someone buying a VPN (I put all features, prices and other info in it). Here it is: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Bty5wTGdm8AtWVEqb95JppYAYtXOSlj2dqqzJVfAq6g/edit?gid=1056199963#gid=1056199963

Update: I tried it on my mom’s iPhone Xs Max with iOS14.3 and it actually works. Seems like my iPhone 12 pro Max is the problem…

Update 2: I restored my iphone 12pm to factory settings and now the vpn is working well on tiktok

/u/Cezben, I have found an error in your post:

“version and its [it’s] the same one”

I consider this comment by you, Cezben, wrong; it should be “version and its [it’s] the same one” instead. ‘Its’ is possessive; ‘it’s’ means ‘it is’ or ‘it has’.
