So… microsoft is presenting me the browser with a language i dont understand . On play store…not using a vpn or anything
Japanese. I’d navigate to the store page in a browser and see if you get the same thing.
interestingly my outlook for Android occasionally opens in Japanese. I don’t have Japanese installed on my phone or anything, it just sort of randomly happens. luckily I can (very slowly) understand (incredibly basic) Japanese but it’s still super weird. seems like a Microsoft meme
The two katakana words say “kasutamaizu” and “buraujingu.” If you read it aloud you can tell that they’re Japanese pronunciations of “customize” and “browsing”
The only thing I can think of is that the language you’ve chosen isn’t supported, but if that language is English I highly doubt that’s the case.
Time to learn Japanese!
Hey, friend! I wanted to hop in here and let you know that this should be resolved now. Let me know if you’re still seeing the Japanese text in the Google Play Store, but I spotted that it should be all set now myself. Thanks for posting! :3
Fallback languages are complex. There is a language preference order, but I’d be very surprised if that we’re a factor here.
This honestly looks like the wrong assets were provided for an update to the store. Updating the text for different reasons is much easier to do than making sure the image assets are made to match. It’s been almost a couple years since I was putting out builds on the MS Store, but if this is being shown while looking at en-US or en-GB, it’s more likely just to be an asset problem on the Store than the Store actually thinking this should be ja-JP. Once downloaded it won’t even matter as the language files pulled from the Store and what is placed on the PC should match the machine locale.
Nope. It is english now …ty
When is Edge going to be updated to the latest Chromium version? We are still on 77
Yeah that makes sense.
