Qbittorrent acting up again

Suddenly my PC, Shield, Plex, etc. are all acting like bitchy girlfriends. Once again bittorrent will show no seeds, peers, etc. This is the third time this week. I am using Deluge which works fine but I don’t see how to bind it to my VPN (Mullvad). Does anyone know?

If you are using webUI in qbittorrent

Try putting, in the WebUI option area “Ban client after consecutive failure”:

0

This workaround solved the problems for many people, included me

Suddenly my PC, Shield, Plex, etc. are all acting like bitchy girlfriends.

Sounds more like a router issue - especially if its ISP supplied. Those are usually the most under powered el chepo ones the ISP can get their hands on which have bugger all scratchpad ram and are usually CPU underpowered at the best of times. Especially as most ISP’s tech support at level 1 is “reboot your router”.

Deluge which works fine but I don’t see how to bind it to my VPN

All well maintained open sourced applications usually have a wiki or docs. Google is your friend.

I’m confused. You mention qbittorrent in the title and deluge in your post. Which are you using to torrent? With qbittorrent you change it under setting with “interface” and pick your vpn. With deluge, open your settings and change interface to your vpn. If your vpn name isn’t showing, you can manually go network settings and find which connection is associated with it, (wireless 1, wireless 2, ethernet 1, ethernet 2, etc) and put that in your deluge interface settings.

Or you know, better is just to enable Bypass authentication for clients on localhost if hosted local/non docker/etc.

Or put your subnet in once enabled Bypass authentication for clients in whitelisted IP subnets

Both options under WebUI settings.

THanks for the response, Spanner. I bought this router but that seemed to be the problem. I rebooted last night and everything is working now.

I did google Deluge and VPN binding but the only source I found was how to bind it to their specific VPN. Anyway qbittorrent is working again, so I’m good. Thanks again.

qbittorrent wasn’t connecting to anything, no seeds, no peers, nothing. The last time that happened I dl’d Deluge and it worked fine so I figured I’d stick with it and wanted to know how to bind it to Mullvad. I got qbittorrent working again so the point is moot. But I’ll keep your advice in mind if I ever have to go back to Deluge. THanks.

I don’t know if your solution can work, but he can try it if he has got some time to waste

Thanks man, I appreciate your efforts

Sounds good! Only reason I switched from deluge to qbittorrent was deluge was having issues seeing my network drive to download. Glad you were able to get things solved. There’s also a way to make your internet connection only route through the vpn if you’re super concerned. I use a 2 pc setup (1 downloads and the other hosts plex server), the download pc cannot access the internet unless vpn is on for extra security.

Nice

My router was causing all sorts of problems. I couldn’t load MLB.TV on Shield, but the built in tv apps worked. I couldn’t load MLB At Bat on my phone. I couldn’t load anything having to do with baseball, not even check scores in google. And my Plex client would not load. Not to mention the qbittorrent problem. Rebooting it fixed everything.
