PSA : If you live in India, do not buy For Honor yet

There are very few players who are playing the game in the region and the extended region that encompasses S.E. Asia for which the game will match you up with.

If the matchmaking extends to all regions you might , and I repeat , might just find a game but even with my connection of 100Mbps down and 50Mbps up , the lag is just too much due the latency in the connection.

I really like this game , the custom matches that I played were great but for now I’m going to have to refund this.

EDIT : I would understand people will be telling me hey , if there is a lack of population in the game shouldn’t you be telling people to buy the game?

When Titanfall 2 was out I urged more players to get it and got a lot of my friends to buy it as well.
Unfortunately for ‘For Honor’ the way matchmaking works and with it’s current number of issues I’m saying it’s better to hold of for a few months

Low population in a game. Telling people to not buy it should fix it.

“We need more players!”

“Don’t buy this game!”

Whaa-?

But if more Indian players buy it population won’t be an issue.

So India has a population problem? Sorry, I tried…

You’re not wrong, even in countries with high player bases the servers are… terrible.

If you look at /r/forhonor, you’ll find a shitpost about disconnects everyday.

I love the game, but it has a few rage inducing issues:

  • When someone leaves, the game freezes & every player has to resynchronise
  • Players that leave are replaced with a full health bot, which sucks in 1 life modes (brawl/elimation/duel)
  • Frequent disconnects which results in loss of all rewards/bounty progress.

It’s really a shame, because Ubisoft really has a great new IP here. Hopefully they’ll iron out the kinks in the near future, after which I’ll be able to recommend it.

Similar issue with Rainbow Six: Siege in Hong Kong. You can find a game, but it’ll take a while and its all from the same tiny pool of players. I only bought the game due to Ubisoft saying we could switch datacenter “soon”.

That was said January 2016.

Wouldn’t buying the game increase is player base? I mean…

one thing I should tell you, I live in china mainland, I just test my vpn ping to few node in asia, hongkong/taiwan return 50ms, india return 500ms, the Singapore return 150ms, thailand return 100ms, I highly doubt it’s caused by your country current network outbound bandwidth, we are so close but we are 500ms ping time, even Singapore far from china is just 150ms ping time. there are a PSA thread in for honor sub explained how a cluster P2P server network working in multiplayer, you should take a look.

At least you can entirely play with and against A.I. in For Honor. That pretty much all me and my wife do.

We can’t change the server location? In titanfall we could.

What’s your ISP? Your speeds are really good .

100mbps/50mbps has nothing to do with how many milliseconds it takes to transfer information. Its why people could play quake or duke 3d in the 90’s on 100ms pings…

If it’s peer to peer like it is on PC, then yeah, I completely understand the “do not buy.” The latency created by that type is system would be crazy in this situation.

Are we sure this is a common experience and not just one dude?

Frankly it won’t be worth it right now , I’m not sure how many people will actually get the game if I tell them to but the connection issue will still plague them just like various other regions.

Just head over to the Ubisoft forums and you will know what I’m talking about.

I know , but at the current state this is what I’d suggest.

When Titanfall 2 was out I urged more players to get it and got a lot of my friends to buy it as well.

Unfortunately for ‘For Honor’ the way matchmaking works and with it’s current number of issues I’m saying it’s better to hold of for a few months

If XBox actually do promotion outside NA & UK, maybe they’d buy it.

Lol, this was actually a bit funny

One a more serious note tho, it’s just that the gaming populace are drawn more towards the more popular titles that will be supported by the devs like Fifa, dota, cs, battlefield, cod…

I love fighters and another reason I’m thinking twice about getting injustice 2 is the number of players in the region

At least some one understands my plight
