I’m trying to add an email to my reddit account from my android app and it gives an error that it can’t connect to reddit, I’ve tried it from different internet providers, at different times, with VPN and I cleared the app cache and the problem continues.
I tried to log in on the web to add the email from there but the SMS with the code does not arrive, so I tried to change the phone number to my second line and the same error occurs as when trying to add the email.
I can only use reddit from my android app and if I get logged out I don’t think I’ll be able to get it back.
What could be happening and how can I fix it?

Using a VPN will only make things worse in Reddit’s eyes.

Update:
I got the welcome email to reddit but when I try to create a password it says I need to add an email first and the initial problem occurs. I hope u/TheOpusCroakus or someone else can help me.

Hi! I’m not seeing any issues with your account. Can you try adding the email from an incognito or private browsing window and see if that works better?

I can’t log in to new sessions, only the one I have on my Android app because the SMS with the code doesn’t arrive. That’s why I tried adding an email and password and everything started.
Nope, that’s what I want to do, add a password but I haven’t been able to because I can’t add the email first.
Can you try logging in from old.reddit.com and see if you can get in from there?
The SMS to log in does not arrive either 
Are you using the phone that was used to create the account? It can only send the code to the number that is on the account.

What’s the exact error that you get? Do you have a screenshot?
There is no error to log in, the SMS just doesn’t arrive no matter how many times I resend it.
To add the email the error in English is something like " We were having trouble connecting to Reddit"

It finally worked and I was able to add my email and set a password.
The only thing I did differently this time is that I had restarted my phone.
