Have a client, that has pptp remote access only. As Apple removed pptp client in the recent macos versions, i cannot connect to the client’s site. Is there any third party pptp macos client, I could use to connect? I have catalina and bs. Googling gives me some proprietary clients for specific vpn services only.
VPN Tracker 365 has PPTP support for all macOS versions, including PPTP VPN for macOS Big Sur. It’s a multiple-protocol VPN client that lets you connect to your own VPN servers (not a service). There’s a free trial, so give it a whirl.
Disclaimer: I work at equinux, the company that makes VPN Tracker.
Well, a local govt here was hacked and victim of ransomware due to an external company doing their systems administration. They had an RDP server exposed.
I think they would have appreciated someone telling them about it. Of course they would have to do their own due care but still a heads up wouldn’t be bad.
I’ve heard it’s a russian company intellij had malware distributed in their product. Doesn’t matter, surely i asked them to use ike as it is the industrial standard, and been told that “we use this, we ok with this, either use it or we will find another contractor”. As my job is not related to their network and security, i prefer to leave it all as it is, just cannot find a client. Pptp in parallels/windos works fine but there’s no way to share it back to my mac host
