I am connected to the VPN using the app from a Nvidia shield.
I am using the Android TV app, thinking it could be an issue (previously used wireguard from the router)
Watching TV and series is great, no problem but as soon as I put on a live program such as the EPL, the UCL, or any other, the image is bad and sometimes the connection just drops or has big pixels on the screen… and on a 65’’ oled it doesn’t look great.
a speed test show more than enough for 4k. the live streaming are HD at best.
I assume that the Proton VPN app chooses the fastest VPN in the country. and I cannot choose another country otherwise the streaming service won’t work.
in case it helps, I am connecting to Colombia VPN and watching the games on Disney+
Are you simultaneously using a VPN connection from the router as well as the Android TV app? If so, have in mind that using two VPN connections at once would expectedly slow down your connection.

Hola! Asumo que eres de Colombia como yo. Había usado express vpn los últimos años para usar Star+ y todo bien hasta el año pasado con el cambio de espn a Disney+ que empezó a fallar. Ahora desde diciembre los contenidos en vivo en Disney no funcionan usando express, todo lo demás sí, pero nada de espn.
Veo que has tenido problemas de calidad de imagen usando proton…pero Al menos funciona! Sigue siendo así? Mi suscripción a express se renueva en unas semanas y si con protón si funciona Disney, prefiero cancelar express y pasarme a proton
NO, I use OpenWRT policy-based routing and have configured the Nvidia to go through wan instead of wg0 (which is my wire guard interface).
when I disconnect from the VPN I see the ISP public IP on the Proton VPN app. Then I connect to Colombia and can watch, Netflix, HBO, perfectly fine.
it is just as soon as I put in a football game. the image degrades 10 fold.
when I do an internet speed test from NvidiaShield I get plenty of bandwidth.
I must be connected to Colombia VPN. otherwise, the services will stop working. they were purchased using Colombian addresses, bank cards, etc.
si sigue siendo igual. con proton todo las serias. tv. perfecto pero si pongo un live que sea futbol ciclismo la imagen es muy mala y se cae despues de algunos minutos.
