Ping for Indian Rocket League players

I could never thank PSYONIX enough that they introduced a dedicated Indian server for the players. If there are fewer to none games in this region, yeah I totally understand but not the point. My question to the devs and the company is, how is it possible that a player from MENA, OCE gets almost the same ping as me on an Indian server but that is not the case when an Indian player choses to play these servers. The average ping for an Indian player playing on MENA : 280. A MENA player playing games in Indian server: 60-72. the same goes for OCE. I haven’t played this game under 90 ping since hitting Champ 3 for majority of my games. Is it not unfair that almost all other regions can play with a playable stable ping in this region, but we do not have the same privilege to do so in their regions? I Love playing this game without a doubt, but seeing these things really breaks my spirit to play this game. Is there no solution for an Indian player to play this game on other servers with the same ping that the other players get in this region?

if you are well-versed with tech, you could fetch the instance IP for the MENA games you play and attempt a winmtr trace against a set of those and email it to psyonix support(if they have one).

Personally, I think its a routing issue. I haven’t done any digging, but my suspicion is that one of the hops goes all the way to the west either US or Canada and then back to MENA. I’ve stopped queuing in MENA because its worse than every other country in and around EU/SEA.

You could try using a VPN to see if that helps at all.

It might just be your internet……

I have tried it hasn’t worked so far. I did find out about Exit lag but yet again not everyone needs to use this or pay for such privileges then why just us.

VPN doesn’t put you any closer to the server.

it isn’t his ISP or setup. his point is legit. I have better ping to EU than to middle east. It makes absolutely no sense to have that 280-350 ping to the middle east from india.

That’s true but a VPN could potentially use a better path to that server than the path your ISP is taking. Didn’t say it would help.
