I use Surshark and downloaded it here in Mexico and no issues
The process is simple. You create an account arrange your subscription or usually they have a free trial period, then download the app. Install it and it just runs in the background and will show a different IP address depending upon which city you connect to. You can appear to be say in London but really in Australia. Plus all your data is encrypted which gives me peace of mind when I’m doing my banking! You can choose whether it starts automatically with windows or your phone or start it manually. It may slow down your data rate a little but not much but it’s worth it.
There’s really no reason to wait till you get home but if it makes you feel more comfortable do so. Try uninstalling opera and going to Firefox or another browser! Opera was great at the start but now they’ve stuffed it up plus Firefox gives you a private browser as well which is “vanilla” but works great with minimal load on the system. ![]()
Tried that out, thanks, but it doesn’t solve the problem – it just changed the fullscreen button to pop out the video, but the video popout itself has a bad UI (by which I mean: it darkens and obscures the video when I mouse over, the controls cover half the video, and there is no volume control).
Yeah, I did find a temporary and cheapo workaround for the week I’m outside my home area by d/l opera onto an cheapo android box and have that working for now ![]()
What average speeds do you get with it ?
My speed is 300 up and down and I average 290 when I connect to the US
WoW… thanks for the info, I’ll look into it !
