(OCE) Warzone Ranked for Australia 🇦🇺

I’m yet to understand how activision gains anything from restricting OCE competitive players from competing in American servers. They have never done this in previous seasons and there wasnt any mention of this previously. OCE is now not allowed to join using a VPN and a lot of people out there have wasted their time and money getting the levels, gun blue prints and requirements to be able to enter Ranked Warzone for nothing or to sit in an infinit searching 200+ ms que.

As someone who has hit diamond+ multiple times there is a certain rank that you cannot possibly find a match for in OCE and then it will begin its search for other regions to get a game. A vpn just mitigated this time so we don’t waste time queing. When OCE players search for a Ranked match, it will put us in the next available region which is Asia. While fun, it puts a strain on the game as theres a language barrier and it makes it nearly impossible to que and join with friends. Hence why most OCE players prefer American servers.

Previously for Blizzard and currently in WoW, queing American servers for competitive play has never been a problem. Apex Legends has region selection to allow players to find games quicker as does most competitive ranked games. This also helps people with different work/life schedules so that they can que at peak hour times for other regions and actually enjoy the game.

Why are activision diminishing player base of ranked play instead of focusing on cheaters, hackers and aimbotters which they have still not got a handle on?

The only counter I found to this is to have an American host (which defeats the purpose of this VPN block anyway?), therefore I cant play with my OCE based team or one misses out. Either way, none of it is making sense and it is excluding Australia from competing. The reason Treyarch have given is to stop VPN grief in other regions, yet to understand as us Australians are always at a disadvantage having higher latency then in the region we are playing in… We just want to que ranked play

Lastly, why is normal ques fine with a VPN but ranked not?

I have zero game, tried yesterday night, today morning and afternoon … nada.

It’s completely fucked. Can’t even get a normal game of solos in my own region. I’m stuck on exit lag to America. 200ms ping. Then I run into players like Nickcool, metaphor etc.

Don’t get me started on this ranked situation either. I was a diamond 3 all mw3 pushing crimson. All I wanted was big map ranked. Had plans to play with my mates in Europe like I did with ranked resurgence last year. Nope can’t vpn to Europe. I have to play with no vpn on 300ms ping and fight lag. You’d think I’d have the chance to be able to play in my own lobbies. Nope think again can’t find a fucking match. I assume cod dectects a vpn and instantly brings up that error code. As for unable to find games here. It’s because they need 100people to start a match. We are a low population region. We are screwed.

Love having a $6000 pc with a 4080 super and $2000 monitor just to struggle to play a free game. Good job.

I can confirm that there still isn’t any rank warzone matches, not even for bronze 1 within oce. This is ridiculous

Yet another day of not being able to start the ranked grind in warzone… Was really hoping the weekend would let me find a match and escape bronze to hopefully find more matches. But nope… this is fucked.

Best i could think of was going to Well Known streamers and doing a dono and getting them talking on the matter. Got symfunny talking about it last night in stream for 10 minutes but then the convo died out. But they were in agreement that it needs to be changed. I dont know what else to do haha.

Have queued several times with no result as well. I guess we won’t be playing ranked in Aus ever again.

Having the same issue in the UK since the update, can’t find a single game unless I turn cross play on to boost player pool. When you search it’ll immediately throw you to 50 ping instead of the slow rise

Can anyone from Oceania confirm if Ranked Warzone is actually working today after the update?
