Not able to create a new account via VPN?

Hello!

I am trying to create a new account, and for some reason, Netflix is not allowing me while I have a VPN active. I am using the Surfshark extension in both Brave and Firefox. I have tried connecting to Egypt and Pakistan to create the new account, but every time I try to create it, it gives me the error message “Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later.”, without letting me choose a plan, etc. The moment I disable the VPN and I try to use the same email address, I can move forward with the registration process without an issue.

The email addresses I’m using are new accounts created a few minutes before attempting the registration, with both outlook.com and gmail.com domains. I have tried both from my laptop and from my iPad.

Have any of you experienced the same? Is it a new crackdown from Netflix? Do I need to use the VPN in a different way?

In case it helps, I’ve tried changing my timezone to match the one I’m connecting to, and it made no difference

I just did Nigeria Netflix with SurfShark. Worked well.

I can setup Netflix accounts from Pakistan, if possible on your mail as well, im free this weekend just pm me.

Netflix offers much cheaper plans in Pakistan. You’ll have full access over the account, it’ll be on your own email address. Do let me know if you need it.

I’ll give Nigeria a go. Do you have the geolocking as, for example, with turkey? Were you able to add a credit card as payment method? If so, was it visa? Thank you in advance!

I’ve managed now to pass all the way to the step where I get to add the payment method, but none of my cards worked. I’ve tried revolut, wise and my local bank. The cards were both visa and maestro. Did you have any special card?

I have a crypto.com Visa card. First one I tried. Believe is registered in Singapore.
