[Not a review] Observations after two days with F-Secure Freedome VPN

I don’t want to do marketing on behalf of F-Secure, but I came across some weird and also good points after two days of using F-secure Freedome VPN.

  1. RTCPeerConnection: When I check RTC requests leak using https://ipleak.net I find that Safari v6 is the only browser with no RTC leaks out of the box without plugins or tweaks. Chrome and Firefox has this problem.

  2. DNSLeak: Safari, Firefox, and Chrome were okay http://i.imgur.com/mDsFNBm.png

  3. Location: I tried more than 15 location locating websites and they were all okay, these websites didn’t ask for permission to access location services basically because i think they are locating the IP they see. Other websites on the other hand, requested my location access permission, and when I granted that, they found the correct location not the spoofed one!!! That’s on Safari, Chrome, and Firefox as well.

  4. Timezone: The checkup done by http://whoer.net/extended also checks the time. Here is the point, my local time based on IP inspection is +2 but the actual time zone is +3 and this has ben detected as MISMATCH http://i.imgur.com/XFnUqxe.png
and I see this as a horrible hole and I find it really disturbing.

  5. Browser plugins: I wanna goddamn hide these plugins from whatever inspection or tracking.
