Northern war episode 1 subbed is out

As I feared. It’s not available on Crunchyroll in Malaysia. Link leads to a 404 error. Searching for the terms ‘kiseki’ and ‘northern’ yields no result.

I hate this hellhole.

I have mixed feelings. It clearly has potential. Some of the humor, though, felt a little off for the franchise. That’s fine, it doesn’t have to keep the same tone exactly, but it does make me wonder what’s to come. On the other hand, looks like they’re going full Falcom diplomacy and politics which is good.

Zero % chance this gets dubbed, right

The best part of ep1 is that Rean isn’t there (in NA) yet .

My prediction is that the anime will become borderline disgusting when he arrives and steals the spotlight with his cringe

Man this episode really expected you to have prior knowledge to get some of what they we’re talking about

>Aurora Phenomenon

just name him aurora jesus falcum

Of course they make feMC a mary sue

By the way, do you think new Ouroboros Enforcers or Anguis are gonna be introduced in this anime and be brought in the games only later?

Being honest if i were watching this anime without knowing anything about trails this first episode was fine , but unless The second or third have something that make me more interesed i probably won’t see it till the end or at least won’t be waiting for the next episode the next week

Honestly I’m pretty excited. I came into trails a little different than most. I started with the cold steel arc, then liberal and now finally crossbell. Anyway, the northern war is kind of like Rean’s (trails of cold steel MC) Vietnam. He doesn’t really talk a lot about it but you get that some serious stuff went down. The thing is, the northern war was a really important development for several key characters. So I’m really excited to actually see how everything plays out and what roles the characters play too.

One of the things I love about the cold steel games, Rean is a typical hero. Speeches, let’s do the right thing, etc. But during the wars (annexation of crossbell, northern war, war with calvard) he feels like a villain. Through the wars his biggest goal is to preserve innocent life, but he’s aware of the fact he’s on the antagonist side of things, but he can’t really go against his orders. He’s also keenly aware that, because of Valimar, he can single handedly change the course of all of these wars. We don’t get to actually see any of this though. Just references to it and mainly the consequences some time after the war. The games really only focus on him rebounding from the shock and coming to terms with the role he played and using those experiences to help him not make the same mistakes.

It’s a very deep character arc and I’m really excited to see part of that arc from the OTHER point of view. Not just Rean’s POV, but the people that see him as an enemy, maybe even their greatest threat. I think it’ll be a great anime, but paired with the games? I think it’ll end up being a crucial addition to the cold steel arc.

Probably a bad time. Based on the first episode you really have to have some knowledge of the game’s stories

Haha wait a moment, you were the PR guy on Twitter

Well, Rean is prob devil incarnate for these people so… its relative?

People are naive to expect the best anime ever. First ep was not bad, id say somewhere between 7-8/10 all around

Animation is meh but watchable. For a video game anime it’s a decent first episode. Might be because it’s essentially an original story. Just my opinion.

First episode is basically one big exposition dump with some comedy.

Both subpar. Animation feels stiff and writing this episode makes me wary of the rest as well. It has tons of poorly done exposition, poor flow between scenes and decides to rather focus on a random comedic duo than the MC for most of the episodes.

You usually have to wait until the season is almost over for anime OPs to be put on streaming services.

Honestly speak for yourself on the two faceless guys. They were funny and brought Life to the episode. It’d be legitimately sad if those two bite the dust later on.

Aurelia willingly scaring Rogan without going for the kill might foreshadow her opposition to Osborne.
