Guys beware, you should know this company(nordvpn) is scam when you cannot find a Google review page for it… (and notice how much money they spend on ads, fake promotion stories everywhere on the internet).
From my experience, NordVpn is one of the worst companies I have dealt with. I bought a three yr plan and didn’t have much time to use it in the first month. When I start to use it, the VPN keeps failing (need to constantly change settings) I ask for refund, no way they not gonna give to you. Once they have you money, no customer service. The worst thing comes when I lose my access to the email connected to the account. They told me to change pwd (and kicked me out of my account) , which requires access to the account email, I cannot, because I don’t have access to the email any more. To continue use my account, they request a bank statement showing my purchase more than two years ago(which I don’t have, first because my bank doesn’t store information older than 24month and second I already canceled the card I used,) I told them I can give them my ssn so they can verify whether that card belongs to me. They said no and told me to cancel my account. I paid for it but they told me to fuck off.
Not sure how to share screens hots but you will be pissed off too talking to their customer services.
If I was in your situation I would be complaining about the bank that won’t give you a statement for something that was less than 3 years ago.
Nord is making it difficult for you to gain control of your account without your email address, but that’s also a good thing. It means it’s extremely difficult for an account to be hijacked.
The bad news is that you need to get a bank statement (from less than 3 years ago) and the bank won’t give it to you.
I have a hard time believing your bank doesn’t even retain statements for more than 24mo. Retention policy at the credit unions I worked at were both 7 years.
I think they are not the best company, but they’re not the worst.
Not sure why you’d by a 3 year plan upfront then not realise there are problems, iirc you get a month free trial before you need to pay for anything.
Sounds like you are more than 2 years into a 3 year plan, and now you’re complaining, which is frankly ridiculous. They are based in Panama, probably for privacy reasons, no way should they be dicking around with (presumably) American social security numbers as some kind of authentication method. This problem seems to be on you.
Doubt you’re going to find much sympathy here.
Every VPN provider is a scam. The service they sell is a scam, so why wouldn’t the company selling it be?
Lol they’re one of the most highly regarded vpns around. Your user errors and uniquely weird ass situation don’t make them crooks.
All 3rd party VPNs are. You’re just shifting trust from ISP to some no named entity. Buy cheap VPS and run your own VPN network. I do this for about £40 a year with about 10 virtual (cloud) servers. Only you access them and VPS providers are more trust worthy than VPN hosters.

Sure you can dislike them for other reasons (I don’t really care:rofl:). I dislike them for mine as I never had a company with which I have account with requiring receipt longer than two years old, and I sure u don’t really care neither

Banks keep transaction records for 5 years normally. Chase the bank up and stop making excuses. You can’t complain about a companys refund policy when you try to get a refund outside of their terms that you agree to when you sign up.
Also, it has already been said. VPNs are a scam, waste of money and they DO NOT provide any security whatsoever.
You made a mistake, no you’re outta pocket. Leave it at that and move on with your life.
It’s unclear why NordVpn is selling an unusable product. I’m not sure whether this is a scam or just a crappy company without business ethics.
Don’t buy NordVpn. It is buggy and regularly blocks internet access. It is slow to connect when it actually connects but then it’s invariably very slow connection speeds. My family has had to abandon it. Same issue across several devices. Unusable.
In the past, I added Nord directly to my router, and it was stable in that case, but I will never purchase this product again. Brutal.
They are SCAM!!! BEAWARE! I after a while I start getting security header issues on my site again. I checked the code with Google dev. tools and found the local stylesheet script was injected by Nord VPN with multiple different spam links
The thing is that nordvpn should have access to the bank info, I told them I can tell them my ssn so they can verify it is my card. I cancelled the card I paid it for a year ago.
The thing is that I lost access to my old email and many of my other accounts were also affected. All other companies were able to change the email for me with certain personal information verification. Nordvpn is the only one to tell me just to cancel my account.
I cancelled that card more than a year ago.
I use it very occasionally thats why I missed the money back 30 days. And because it was giving me lots of issues I haven’t use them for the first two years. Recently I moved to another state and I wanted to give it another try and find I don’t have access to it any more,. I am not asking for sympathy, just letting people aware. Most business will allow you to verify information if you lost access to your original email (never have I need to retain bank statement that’s more than 2 years old). Not asking for sympathy since its not much money involved. Just want people to be aware of how they treat unhappy customers.
