I just updated to Windows 10 and my VPN programs don’t work anymore.
What I mean by “don’t work” is this: I can connect to any server with Tunnel Bear (latest version), but no websites load. I had the same problem with ShrewVPN, which I used when working from home. This used to work with my Win 8.1, but it stopped working when I updated to Win10. I could connect to the server from work, but I had no internet…a ping to google.com didn’t receive any reply. Strange right?
I must stress, we highly recommend you don’t go messing around with regedit.
Uninstalling/rebooting/reinstall usually fixes the issue. If not try uninstalling the TunnelBear TAP adapter which you’ll find under Device Manager > Network adapters in the Control Panel.
If you STILL have issues, we might be looking at something different. In that case we recommend you send us an email (reference this Reddit post) over at TunnelBear: Secure VPN Service
Simples… Linux
Why bother using any privacy tools whilst using windows ?
I’ve found preventing vpn leaks progressively trickier with each new version of windows. This offering I suspect will be the final nail in the coffin for many windows folk in this (Snowden) era.
Photoshop&Lightroom don’t work on Linux unfortunately…it’s the only thing that keeps me on Win. I know about the open source photo alternatives, but they are ages behind. So yeah…I’m stuck with the devil
That’s a shame, I hear what your saying regarding the open source apps although I find I can pretty much do what I need albeit with the occasional compromise. Linux is rapidly becoming more and more user friendly, some users not so much !!!
I guess it comes down to where your line is, for me it was w8, my only regret is I didn’t jump sooner.
