Netflix SSL error

Does anyone having issue with Apple TV Netflix app? When i activate express Vpn app on Apple TV and trying to watch something on the Netflix app it once work and other times give me this ssl error and I’m not sure why Is it happening to anyone else? And if so can this be fixed somehow?

We’ve found out what was causing the Netflix SSL errors and we’ve rolled out a fix. We appreciate your patience on this. Please do let us know if it is working for you.
If you’re still having problems, it would be extremely helpful if you could let us know, and walk us through your process so that we can reproduce it on our end. You can also always contact our Support Team anytime. Thanks, everyone.

Mostly commenting to follow and see if there are solutions

Every second of every day for about 3 months and counting. Support refuses to acknowledge that it is anything to do with the VPN and just gives you the same old steps to frustrate you into giving up.

I can get something to play sometimes by clicking several titles to play and get one to play and then quickly navigate to what I actually want to watch and then it works for one episode/movie.

Last couple of days I can’t even get Netflix to sign in, so I’ve been watching on other services or the local Netflix library.

Had the same problem. Try different locations and it will work. Start with Albuquerque or Dallas. Hope it will fix the issue.

Open the ssl certificate to see what happened, mostly it’s bad DNS directing you to the wrong server.

You can’t on the Apple TV itself.

Edit: corrected. Commenter is an IT sorcerer. [Suspect commenter didn’t read the post.]

I’m having the same issue. Someone said it’s also happening with Nord in another post but I can’t verify.

I’m close to ending my sub and trying another vpn for a while.

No need to do it on Apple TV, wireshark to check DNS queries and try these hostnames on the PC to see if they resolve correctly.

Why would you assume I don’t read the posts? Troubleshooting stuff like this is my day job.

Thanks for correcting me.

It’s an easy assumption because of your low effort reply.

Not really low effort, it’s a guess all right, but it is based on years of experience with these stuff.

I get that. But just dumping a statement about opening SSL certificates on a post relating to an Apple TV might be seen as lacking in information. Given that it’s not possible on the Apple TV itself.

No need to get defensive about it. I don’t know you’re a Marvel IT Superhero from your username alone. I assumed you were a tea connoisseur.

Hah I could do that, a tea shop next to the IT desk sounds refreshing.

I’d kill for a half decent tea shop next to my desk. So much ‘pink’ weirdly fishy smelling tea here. But that’s a story for another day
