I am a consultant for a number of companies that use GlobalProtect as their VPN access method. Some use a sso portal where you can login, which is great, some unfortunately attempt to take your logged in windows user as the automatic user login which is less great.
To deal with this I usually have to open up a VM where I can change my logged in user and then try to access the GlobalProtect client, which i guess works but is a bit of a hassle.
I know there are registry settings for GlobalProtect, but I can’t find a good documentation source that tells me what all of them are or which to add that might help let me control this, which is disappointing. I’m looking to see if I can disable the automatic reading of my logged in user and force it to let me specify what user I’m logged in with? Any ideas? I’m well versed in scripting and making regedit changes, im an admin on my local laptop so I can do whatever would be required if there is anything I can do.
Obviously, I don’t have control over any of the backend palo alto server or network configuration and they aren’t going to fix this problem for me so looking for suggestions. About half of my clients do it properly and the other half I’m forced to use a VM environment to even get logged in.
