Local connect via VPN (Wireguard)

So I have set up a Wireguard VPN server on my home router to connect to my home network when away from home. Despite this, the PSPlay Local option won’t work when connected to the VPN and thehome network. Is this expected behaviour? With Moonlight I can connect locally to my PC via VPN without issue.

You must use the manual remote connection and you must enter the local IP address of your PlayStation. Local Connect will perform a network broadcast which will not work if you are not really in the same network.

When you connect using a VPN, click the remote play option and put in the LOCAL IP address of your PS.

Thx, then it is expected behaviour. So far I’ve done manual connection using the home network’s public IP but maybe that’s not optimal? Will try the PS5’s local IP next time.

Tried it but remote connect with the local IP of the PS5 on the home network won’t work, only the public IP. Which is weird because that’s the same IP of my connecting device as it is connected through VPN.

Hi, I’m not sure if your problem is fixed but I just set up Wireguard in my Fritzbox, got the new updated PSPlay app and clicked on “remote connect” - “automatic”. And it worked!! from mobile data
