I’ve been using NordVPN for about 4 months now and its has been good up until about 2 weeks ago. I was using Japan Netflix and was given the error of using a proxy or whatever. Restarted my phone and logged back in but the shows and movies I was watching were gone. I’ve tried using other regions but they all route me to US Netflix. I’ve seen that people were having trouble with Japan Netflix but I’m wondering if it’s a larger issue with other regions or am I region locked to the US regardless of what I set my VPN too. Any advice or help would greatly be appreciated
So it seems I cant base my region anywhere in the Eastern/South-Eastern Asia. I did just successfully connect to France Netflix. So has anybody else have had the same trouble or is it just me?
Almost all servers of nordvpn connect to US, with the exception of a few. Their website has more details on it but besides US they have a very select few like Canada and Japan I think.
I had the same problem a few months back and I stopped trying to mess with it. Haven’t found a fix for it yet, and now I just watch US Netflix.

They probably just don’t support the regions netflix so they reroute you to the US. It’s not uncommon. Flip through the regions to see which ones are available. Try Japan, Canada, US? You might only get 5 or so countries.
I was in NL last week and the NL servers gave me US Netflix. According to Nordvpn, All their servers give US except United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, France, Germany, and Italy. My suggestion is to maybe follow those troubleshooting steps in that article to see if they’d help

Same here, for a lot of NF locales I just get redirected to US, a few others just work fine. I noticed it a good few months ago.

What happened to being able to view any countries Netflix?
I don’t understand. Nordvpn has servers everywhere. If I log on to a server in UK, my up gets reported as a UK IP.
How come Netflix doesn’t work as though it’s UK?
I’ve tried what I’ve found online but I cant get it to work. But I was able to get France Netflix so maybe European servers are still available.
I have not, but now I’ve become weary of trying other VPNs in case of a similar situation

Honestly I have no idea how it works at all. I use it just to browse US servers and if it isn’t on US it’s usually on Japan or Canada.

I have no idea about other ones since I use nord, I usually just need US servers. If you sort by top posts in the sub I think there was a survey to decide the best one, that could be helpful for you.
