ive been using the free proton vpn for quite a while now and it seems to be getting worse and worse. daily outages and connection interruptions are seemingly common, especially the last few days and i dont have the time or energy to get behind whats causing these. i trust proton and i really like the services but its getting to a point where i wont recomend it or use it anymore. i need safe vpn for work and education nd the netherlands connections are becoming so terrible if i dont turn it off i cant access anything on a daily basis. whats going on? im using 4g mostly and once i switch the vpn off my connection is flawless.

The Free server are just so you can check out the software and make sure it works for you. the free servers are not really ment for everyday use.

Obviously it’s the free tier and way too many trying to use it, obviously u will see some downsides
Are you connecting from a country that tries to block VPNs? If so which ISP? And which protocols are you using to connect? Android? iPhone? Windows? Recent OS or newer OS? Using the latest version of the VPN client software or an old version?
It sounds like the Proton team are pretty active in trying to work around blocks in different countries, but you’re not giving them much to go on to help them solve the issue for you.
Don’t be so cheap. Pay for premium.
Proton are kind enough to offer a complete secure, no logs free service. You should be grateful instead of insolent.

Did the recent update get rid of the 3 free regions? I can only route to Japan now I believe, which means the app has become not useable as some US websites, such as for schools and .gov are now inaccessible again
yeah switching around still didnt work, btw the server load wasnt even at 30%, well see how its going today

No. On the contrary, you now have another two countries on the Free account: Romania and Poland (in addition to Japan, the Netherlands, and the USA).
