Issue with Zscaler (VPN) only when connected to spectrum?

I work from home as a graphic designer and my company uses Zscaler. I don’t have any issues with download speeds when connected to Xfinity Wifi - at my parents house, or in public places like my local library or university. It only happens when I’m working from home at this new townhouse I moved into, where we have Spectrum (it’s a pretty small town, so its the only wifi available in our location).

I’ve tried troubleshooting every way I know how. All other devices work perfectly fine, it’s just my work laptop that has horrible download speeds. I have to wait 1-2 hours for a 1GB file to download, but if I go somewhere else to work, that same file will download in a minute. It’s extremely frustrating and slows me down a lot.

If you have any idea what MIGHT be going on, or what I can test to further troubleshoot, please let me know!!

the problem is that Spectrum controls zero of you VPN. The VPN is doing the all of the routing. hardwire your PC directly to your modem with Ethernet and reboot the computer and the modem. See how that is. if you get better speeds that way you may want to get your own router.

Always use a hardwire connection if anything. Also, on your router try changing the DNS settings from the default Spectrum DNS to something more open like Google. 8.8.8.8 Primary and 8.8.4.4 Secondary. Once you do that, save the changes then reboot your modem/router and PC then try the speeds out !

Zscaler admin here. Does the company you work for have ZDX? If so, they can use it to narrow down what could be causing your slow speeds when at home.
