Do you think it is worth paying for a vpn service nowadays? ( i’m not asking for any name or company, I read the rules ) Do most of these services really deliver what they promise? Or is there a vpn service that is open source or something like that? mostly I want youtube not be able to know my ip all the time with every video I watch. Obviously I am ignorant on the subject and I apologize if this question had already been answered before but I have searched for information on this same question but I have not found an answer. From what I see there is a lot of mixed information about VPNs, many people say that they do work and others that they don’t… I would like to know your opinion about it. Thank you very much for your time.
The useful-ness of a VPN entirely depends on whether its a service of value to you. If you want to remain anonymous, then a VPN will certainly help you with that. Google/Youtube will still know who you are since you’re signed into their service, but they won’t know where you are (as long as your device doesn’t have a GPS).
By the very nature of how they work, a VPN is just a tunnel to another location. The endpoint is usually a hosted network environment that costs money to run. When you pay for a VPN, you’re paying to use this infrastructure and your paying for any other benefits with it (no logging, no tracking, etc). There are “free” VPN’s, which may or may not work for you. They’re often very low bandwidth and lack all of the features that an actual VPN has.
Theres plenty of decent von out there. It depends what you wsnt to yse it for.
If for masking you ip to access testricted content in your country a few internet browesers have free ones
YES!!! You ALWAYS ALWAYS pay for ANYTHING PRIVACY RELATED!!! NEVER EVER USE ANYTHING FREE RELATED TO NETWORKING OR PRIVACY ESPECIALLY VPNs!!!
