Is there any way to get a dedicated ip for personal use?

I need a dedicated/static ip in order to connect to a certain server but everything ive seen is only the business one. Is there any cheaper plans that offer it? If not wpuld shelling out the 11 bucks a month still work for personal use? (To be clear i mean through proton)

Just a thought, have you considered using Tailscale with the Mullvad VPN addon?

You will have a dedicated IP for each device connected (and even a domain name) and then you can connect to individual IPs. It’s completely free to create and setup your tailsnet but if you want the benefits of a VPN still, you can pay $5 for Mullvad VPN for 5 devices (that’s what I use, may be more for more devices)

I do this today with a normal paid proton account. I have it on my phone when on the road and also have it loaded directly on my router at the house. Ip for the server I selected has not changed since I’ve been using it for over a year. I do use the wireguard connection

I wish they bring that feature to non enterprise accounts.

You can use a dynamic DNS service or buy Proton Business package. You can also create a profile and use one specific server, so your IP won’t be changed except for maintenance and maybe server shutdown.

business only. it’s pricey but works great.

no issue using the business plan as personal, plenty do. imo it’s the best option for an individual user anyway.

for $2/mo more you get double the storage and a few other features too like data compliance things, etc.

kept visionary for a long time but honestly i don’t need the 6+TB or early access to features so I switched a while ago and you save $25/mo.

id consider going back if I didn’t want the dedicated and if Drive was better but it still has a way to go and photos is a non-starter vs ente.

All Proton VPN servers use static IP addresses, meaning that the same IP address is shared between all of the users connected to the server. Therefore, as long as you connect to the same server, the IP address will remain the same. This, however, does not apply to the free and Secure Core servers which are selected from a pool of servers in order to balance out the load.

On another note, dedicated IPs are exclusively offered within the Proton VPN Business plans. For more details about the pricing and the features offered by our Business plans, you can check out the articles below.
