Is there a way to slightly reduce the ping?

Right now I having about average of 90 ping its still somehow playable but still annoying short delays and sometimes its really can affect the gameplay and make it much harder.

Is there maybe a good free program to use to reduce the ping or any other alternative anyone know?

Thanks.

Generally speaking, unless you physically move closer to the servers, or use VPN services to get better routing, you can’t decrease your ping.

Mudfish is probably the best low-cost VPN service for gaming that you can get, but results can vary. Sometimes, your ISP is using super inefficient routing and a VPN can provide a noticeable increase, and sometimes it’s about as efficient as it can get and you’ll barely see any increase, if at all.

u have 90 ms maybe because u are so far of the server or u have bad internet

Riot has a collection of official tips in their new lag report tool

For some reason it gives me 450 ping with Mudfish.

how does vpn work? wouldn’t you just have your bad ping + vpn to league server ping combined?

There are quite a few Windows registry changes you can make to make your internet faster

wut

That doesn’t even make sense. Windows handles networking fairly efficiently. And don’t tell me something like lowering TTL matters cause it really doesn’t with modern computers.

Edit: Just to clarify really quickly here: the kinds of changes one can make in the Windows registry should have an infinitesimally small impact on latency at best. It’s honestly probably better to just not mess with it. Do a traceroute. Is the latency to your router/modem 1ms or less? Congrats, you’re good. Is it more than 1ms? Your OS, your drivers, your NIC, your connection, or your router have an issue. If it’s wifi, there’s your problem. If you’re wired, it’s most likely the eth cable. Good luck from there.

Which kinds of Windows registry changes? and Im using cabled connection.

Mudfish is a little complex to set up. For League, you need to set up the server location you’re accessing (which you can locate here: Servers | League of Legends Wiki | Fandom) and then either let Mudfish auto-select a VPN node to use or manually select one yourself. I’d first let it auto-select the node, and then manually try different nodes if that doesn’t work.

No, not quite. Your signal doesn’t go you > proxy > you > league, it just goes you > proxy > league. Ideally, the VPN node you’re connecting to is physically close to or at least logically close to either yourself or Riot’s servers. If your ISP is using horrendous routing then maybe a VPN can improve your ping by forcing different trunk routes but you will add some measure of latency for the VPN protocols. If it works, awesome, but I wouldn’t expect it to for most people.

Interesting. Well, if you can find which ones those are I’d be interested to know what they’re doing.
