I’m using trust.zone vpn. If anyone else uses it too please help me!
In qbittorrent: options>advanced>network interface> select the network adapter for your vpn
Qbit won’t work unless it’s through the vpn. No separate kill switch needed
Dispite all advise, my advise will be to do this at router level if possible. That way you can make a killswitch.
Enable killswitch
Also something about tethering your vpn to your router…
I’ve not pirated so I’ve no need but this is what I’ve read
This is the way:
https://www.reddit.com/r/VPNTorrents/comments/ssy8vv/guide_bind_vpn_network_interface_to_torrent/
Use a kill switch if the vpn has it. Use proton vpn, they have a 2$ per month for 48 months for Black Friday right now.
Thats a really nice feature i didnt know about.
Previously i just ran vpn in the router for the whole network and a killswich in there.
how do I know which network adapter is my vpn? Is it always the same for Trust.zone vpn users? (vpn I use)
I found how to do it, thank you!
You need go to advanced options and look for the “network interface” option. Then select the network interface that your vpn uses. (I didn’t know what network interface my vpn uses, you can find it in windows’ “control panel”)
If youre on windows you should be able to go to control panel>network and internet>network connections
Toggle your vpn on and off and you shoukd see it change in the control panel. You may need to enable virtual adapter mode on the vpn but I’ve never used trustzone
okay, I believe I’ve done everything, I have one last question:
I’ve turned off the vpn while torrenting, as a test, and it didn’t stop right away. It just slowed down until it reached 0 kbps. Is there a chance my ISP will notice these few kBs of torrent data?
Otherwise, everything worked!! Thank you, friend!!!
Not positive but everything I’ve read online says its fine. You can always double check on ipleak.net and iknowwhatyoudownload.com
Don’t just guess. Go to ipleak.net start the torrent test and turn off your VPN. See if your real IP address leaks
aaahh, thank you so much
