Hey, just asking if NordVpn anti-virus is good. And if it is worth having/using.
NordVPN is not a full antivirus replacement. It’s a download scanner and malicious website scanner mostly designed to protect you while you’re connected to their VPN, but otherwise is not a full system antivirus.
No
Kaspersky Eset or Bitdefender
vpn paid account. turn it off since it block all my internet connection…
Not sure how the anti-virus is, but I didn’t like their VPN. It was a PAIN in the a** to cancel the account.
Could you tell me why
But for a guy who doesn’t download stuff often and just uses it to talk with friends and play games on steam would you say it isn’t the worst thing to use
It’s just not good
Even Windows defender is better in every way, and that’s free.
Nord has lower detection rates, worse pro active detection and I’m pretty sure it lacks any behavioural analysis
Anything you recommend. Also as a VPN is Nord good?
It doesn’t hurt anything to use, just understand it’s not actually an antivirus. Windows Defender or whatever else your using will be your main computer protection.
Use Windows Defender with Sandboxie-Plus. It runs your browser/media player and whatever in a sandbox, preventing malware from affecting your real computer.
I’d recommend Mullvad vpn.
There are better vpns out there. It depends on what you want one for
If you want to use a vpn for watching Netflix abroad, don’t because most of the IPs of the NordVPN (and others) have been blocked by netflix anyway
Are there any free anti virus softwares I could actually download that can keep my pc safe? And is a vpn a good layer of protections
I’m going to try this.
and what about antivirus any out there i should use?
Bitdefender Free would be my pick. If you’re in the US check with your internet provider, most provide a paid full version of antivirus as part of your internet subscription. Usually just search “Spectrum/AT&T etc Security Suite” and you’ll find it.
A VPN doesn’t hurt, it’s more designed for privacy than actual protection. Basically stops your ISP/cellular company from tracking your internet usage and reselling that data.
Windows Defender is there.
Windows Defender should be fine, but if you want to use something else, go for Malwarebytes or Hitman.
