How to hide location on Microsoft Authenticator

I have setup VPN server at home and vpn travel router via wire guard Beryl AX

My company requires me to authenticate via Microsoft Authenticator, from my companies sign ins, I can see usually the locations that I login from

I got the following options:
Phone
Password
Microsoft Authenticator

Is the only way to keep my phone location not shown to get a work specific phone and only connect to VPN travel router that is wire guarded to my vpn server at home?

Anything I’m missing?

Google Voice + VPN is your solution.

I’m trying to figure out the same issue. My understanding is that the phone would need to connect to the VPN just like the computer and need to have GPS turned off.

You don’t need GPS or internet for Microsoft Authenticator. Just put it in Airplane mode and make sure everything is turned off.

I just tried it, took off my Microsoft Authenticator, added Google voice number and in the sign in activity in my sign ins it’s showing as Texas now… I’m in California. Guess Google voice must be using Texas servers or something as my phone was connected to my VPN travel router

My VPN travel router has usb tethering maybe I will use one of those faraday bags and connect it directly to USB

Authenticator app doesn’t even require any internet or GPS. It works without.
