How to get the JP-exclusive DLC (Double bonus pack) (No 360)

To purchase the JP exclusive DLC:

  1. create a Japanese Microsoft account- https://signup.live.com/ (new email)- At the “What’s your birthdate?” section, under country region select JAPAN- Next steps are as usual

  2. Use that email to make a JP XBox account - Again, the important part is to set the account region as JAPAN during account creation

  3. Then, go here (Alle Spiele durchsuchen | Xbox) -Login with your JP account -Click the last item, it should say " ロストオデッセイ「ボーナスアイテム２点パック」 " and 無料 as the price - Click the green button “Xbox 360 にダウンロード” - It SHOULD come up with a green underlined text in the popup, click that and it will take you to a page asking for the payee details.   5. Blue Button > Green Button " Xbox 360 にダウンロード "

The popup should have the card overview, press the green button. If it goes through the text will say " 「ボーナスアイテム２点パック」 をご購入いただき、ありがとうございました "

I used a normal AU Visa debit card, so a US one SHOULD work too.

  1. Log into your XBox One with your JP account, install the DLC.

  2. Must have the JP account logged in while playing the game post-tutorial, for 360 i believe it needs a second controller, for XB One just have it signed-in in the background, once the item is in your inventory and the memory is acquired, save the game and the JP account can be signed out.

Does it not work anymore or am I doing something wrong? There is not the green button to buy it but the gray one that says “not available individually” (translated)

I’ve run into some issues, wondering if I could get some help here.

So I’ve set everything up exactly as you had, all the way up to the payment method section. When I click to add a payment method, I get taken to an Xbox page that is stuck in a state of constantly loading, no matter what I do. So I instead tried to add a payment method to my Microsoft account itself ahead of time, that way maybe the DLC store page would just recognize it. I’m not sure how you used an AU card for yours though, because when I try to add in my US card it won’t let me save it because it wants me to use a proper Japanese state and postal code. I tried putting in a state and postal code from Japan, even if they didn’t match my card, just to see if I could save it and get the purchase to work. It did let me save the card, but no dice on the purchase.

Next I decided to try PayPal. I attached my PayPal to the Japanese Microsoft account with no issue, again when to the DLC page, and it still says I don’t have a valid payment method registered and asks me to click a green button to change payment method, the same green button that takes me to a never ending loading screen.

Not sure what to do here, I’ve almost made it to the end but can’t make it past the payment method issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I really want to get this one last DLC before I start the game (my friend is letting me borrow his 360 so that I can FINALLY play this, and I’m just trying to get this sorted before I jump in).

Guess they took marketplace down. At best it is probably bundled with the JP version of the game, but I cant confirm that atm. Sorry about that

Are you saying clicking the link to add a payment method takes you to a constantly loading page? If so I had that, I just went back and refollowed the link, the JP store is real tacky tbh.

The 360 marketplace payment method doesn’t link to the Microsoft account and afaik PayPal doesn’t work on the JP one.

If you got to the payment page, make sure the postal code has the dash and the state section matches 東京 (removed the last kanji) or use another address:

State: 千葉
City: 中央区
Street: 赤井町
Postcode: 260-0804
Street number: 8番18号

Which is a Chiba address.
The JP payment section is a little weird since the Street and street number are separate sections.

The card type may not be supported on JP stores/JP marketplace. I used visa, so I don’t know any other card that may work, like MasterCard or AXpress (if that’s different).
The address of the card and the address of the purchase don’t have to match, that would mean you wouldn’t be able to buy anything online if you were overseas or travelling, or buying a gift.

Could you give a copy-paste of the payments page on the 360 marketplace (without any info oc) or a screenshot of it? Otherwise lmk if any of this helped so I can fix the guide

Yeah, when I click on the link to add a payment method it just loads forever. I’ve tried over and over again, tried switching from mobile to desktop view, tried just letting it load for 10+ minutes, tried starting over from scratch, but as soon as I get to that part everytime it just loads and loads. I am doing this on my phone, as my laptop isn’t the best, but I can try it on my laptop tomorrow to see if there are any better results that can actually GET me to that payment page, and once I’m there I’ll update on whether my US Visa takes or if I’m still having issues, in which case I’ll get that screenshot.

It might be that it cant be done on phone, I just retried it on PC and it worked, I edited a few things in the guide too.

Dang it, I checked the guide updates and I see that it says on 360 you need two controllers :face_exhaling: I only have the one, that’s gonna suck if I have to buy another controller just to MAYBE get this free DLC…

Well, it’s been years since I used a 360 so I may be wrong. As long as you can have 2 accounts signed in at once, the main acc and the JP acc, it will work.
So try to sign into the JP acc then your acc and see if the accessory is in your inventory. If it is then I’m wrong.
