The site always says I am in a restricted area, can I do something to enable use on this site for me?
Maybe your DNS server is leaking? Are you sure your VPN is really tunneling your traffic? Try a tracert on windows or traceroute on linux (i think)
Is web rtc enabled? Flash running?
The CC you used to give them your golds?
Visit www.ipleak.net while connected to your VPN to check for typical IP leaks.
This geolocation stuff is totally ridiculous. If the law says people from New York can’t play, then why are you trying to block someone from Maine who is allowed to play just because they are in a NY geolocation? Look at the forums, you just F’ed a ton of users, think about international people and people traveling the states or people with geolocation not enabled or that don’t want it due to privacy. So confused on this tactic that gets you nothing except less money and angry users. You won’t win in court because you say “We put up a geolocation tracker to block people traveling inside the banned areas”. You think that will save you, or do anything in your defense? Irrelevant.
With that said, anyone know how to get around the HTML5 Geolocation? I have tried everything, nothing seems to work. Chrome emulation doesn’t work, and the browser add-ons don’t work. =(
Yes, that is exactly what it is. And if you don’t allow location, they won’t let you play. I am looking for a way to spoof it, but nothing seems to work. I am from a state that is ALLOWED to play but can’t because of where I am traveling. Not sure how they are preventing spoofing plugins from working… Bye bye draftkings, hello fanduel. Idiots…
How do you block websites from accessing your router info?
This. Try turning off WiFi completely on the pc/laptop you are using.
IE CBS All Access does this type of checking as well…if my wifi is turned on (still using ethernet connection though), it will get the info of the surrounding wifi connections and say I am not in the U.S…when i disable wifi, it works then.
Did anyone ever come up with a solution to this, or find another DFS site that’s not as strict as Fan Duel and Draft Kings?
i’m not sure how to do that.
i’m not sure what webrtc is but i think draftkings uses flash
i tried it, i even tried using a browser i hadn’t used before.
nah i still have my credit cards registered as my parents address in wisconsin which is a legal address.
all of the information on that website comes back as wisconsin (my goal destination) but the geolocation still puts me in prague. is it possible draftkings is checking that?
i’ve had the same problem with fanduel. they blocked me first.
Open command prompt. Type tracert www.Google.com with your VPN enabled, does it go through your vpn or your ISP provided IP?
You could also use https://www.dnsleaktest.com and if it has any connection to your isp that could be failing the connection to draftkings.
If it is, Google "how to change my dns on insert operating system here " and change it to primary dns 8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4.4 as they are the google dns servers. I had to do this as windows 10 had my dns leaking back to my isp on my desktop but windows 7 didn’t on laptop.
WebRTC can leak your IP via STUN requests, if you use Firefox type “about:config” into your URL bar. Then search for media.peerconnection.enabled and set that to false.
If you use chrome you gotta get an add-on.
They may be getting your IP from flash depending on your VPN client, see if you can disable flash and see if your region changes.
If all else fails Google how go change your DNS in your OS, it’s pretty easy to do and could also be your solution.
I’m in prague and it says its going through Minneapolis and my goal is wisconsin so i assume its going through the vpn. when i type ‘where am i’ in google it shows i’m in wisconsin but the website ‘whereamirightnow’ sees me as in prague.
