I’m trying to find an ASUS router that supports Merlin and already has UU installed. I’m new to all of this so I’m not too sure what I’m looking for, but after translating this I still can’t tell whether this has UU installed or not. What do I need to look for? Feel free do DM me any links if possible.
Thanks
I bought the asus AX86U pro and it has UU pre installed and is Merlin compatible
The issue use when you put the VPN (i assume that is why you want a Merlin router), UU doesn’t work (at least for me)
You better off having a UU booster for gaming and the Asus router for the rest
The least painful way is to get two routers connected in parallel to your modem (modem → VPN router and modem → UU router). If you get VPN and UU in one, you have to set up rules so that your game doesn’t go through the VPN, but usually some things don’t work anyway then you have to manually go and disable the VPN.
Buy a router with VPN, e.g. Asus that can install Merlin, and another normal router both connected to your modem.Buy a UU box and conne t it to the router without VPN.
UU csn play all games, it doesn’t matter if they are band in China.
UU It’s a gaming router with “like VPN access for games”, and you need to install UU app on your phone to run it from your phone.
I have 2 and it works really well for all online games and for playstation portal, Xbox, switch and playstation
I got a Xiaomi router from a local Xiaomi shop and it came with UU
You’re better off with the UU on your PC, otherwise you have to connect to your router if you want to change your game which can be annoying.
I have 2 PS5 connected via ethernet and use playstation portal via wifi all with 1 account
Yeah but the UU booster won’t allow me to have access to blocked games or online services that don’t work in China right?
Also, sorry I didn’t specify that I play on Xbox.
Right so I don’t know much at all about routing and shit so how do I go about the two router thing exactly? Also, I’m not really understanding what UU is. Is it a software or a hardware device, or both? Which do I need if so?Thanks for the help btw.
Btw you will need to pay a monthly fee.Not a lot, I think I paid 260 rmb for a year
Thanks for this!!
What’s the point of the router without the VPN then as I’m assuming I won’t route my Xbox through there at all?
Also where can I find a UU box? I’m having a hard time finding it on Taobao but maybe I’m searching the wrong thing.
Also, I can’t find the UU app on the App Store (iOS). The top the thing pops up is an app called biubiu, is that it?
Sorry I didn’t specify that I play on Xbox.
Does a UU give the same benefits as a VPN on my router?
Wait so you have one router with two Ethernets coming out of it?
I use it to play Diablo which is blocked in China.
For another games I have no idea
For the second router, assuming your modem is far from your tv having a second router without vpn near the tv to connect the UU box to your Xbox via ethernet, connection will be more stable.
Here a taobao link for UU box:
【淘宝】203+人已复购 http://e.tb.cn/h.TdoGZjBZDmyJ5iZ?tk=TTiJ3uLZkqQ CZ3452 「【送15天UU会员】Wi-Fi6版UU加速盒2 UU加速器PS4\PS5 Pro\Switch\XSX\Steam Deck主机加速 COD21加速」

Once you get the box with your UU accelerator, you can scan the bar code and download the app.
UU is a packet shaper and ping reducer but routing traffic to shorter routes, it’s not a VPN. It does allow access to some games that are normally blocked, Diablo 4 requires UU for example.
I have an Xbox and haven’t found many games that don’t work, Diablo 4 and Roblox is the only 2 I’ve found that don’t work on Xbox but do work on PC with UU.
If you use UU you must use the Chinese version, you can’t use the English/western version. This is from UU directly, something to do with server selection. You’re in China, you probably know this.
I’ve never bothered to get UU working on my router as it seemed like not easy thing to do, getting the Xbox to work properly on my network was annoying enough. Hope you get it working tho.
I have the UU box connected to 2 PS5 via ethernet and the UU box connected to the router also via ethernet
Ah okay perfect! So I should get two routers (one with vpn and one with UU) and just connect to each one depending on what I’m doing?
Amazing, thank you for this! The only complication is that my girlfriend will be living with me and we will have two Xbox’s that will both need UU, so how could this be done?
