Hello, which free antivirus software is better for Windows 10? Thank you
Hello,
As far as the actual programs go, there is no one “best” program, as each has its plusses and minuses. Performance, system resource usage, and detection rates change with every update, and those occur multiple times throughout the day.
So, any of the programs listed in the wiki at https://old.reddit.com/r/antivirus/wiki/index#wiki_anti-virus_.28aka_anti-malware.29_developers would be a good starting place to find what is best for you.

Windows defender for real time scanning, Malwarebytes for scans.
Free built-in Windows Defender (realtime protection and has an “offline” scan option as well) + Free OpenDNS account using their DNS servers in your network configuration(s). You can do category blocking with custom white/ black lists + Free ad blocker in your browser(s) like UBlock Origin = Great FREE protection that is light on resources
Kaspersky Cloud Security is outside of US. If inside the US, Bitdefender is good.
Windows Defender is good but it has some shortcomings, you should use a VPN and ad blocker and if you can use a good third-party antivirus, you are fine.
Avast free or avast premium…
I am using avast premium for over 6 months, really like it. I know some people don’t like avast but it really work well for me.
I was with kaspersky free before changing to avast.
I also noticed that kaspersky mostly never catch software cracks or patches files from Ru. And some files has suspicious operation. Mostly I use virustotal to check for virus rating and which file connection they have. A lot of the time patch file with too high virustotal rating and virustotal community are totally ok in kaspersky scan. That’s how I started not to believe in kaspersky and change to avast.
Bitdefender is also good but i feel like bitdefender is a little bit heavy on system, just my opinion .
Thanks for your help! I’m already using the Ublock Origin and I’ll use the first two you recommend!

Thank you, I understand. I don’t know much about antivirus software. I will carefully choose the one that suits my computer!
