Has anyone else been having problems with Astrill recently?

I’ve been using it for a few years with no complaints, but for the past couple of weeks or so it seems to have trouble connecting to any server. Has anyone else had this problem?

The ones which are specifically for China don’t work in China. Just try regular LA or Seattle etc

I know it’s stupid

Some of the servers have been slow and unstable recently, I now usually use obscure EU ones. Czech Republic and Bosnia are stellar.

Yes. And.

Express seems to have become significantly less reliable in October and now many people have hopped over to Astrill. As the best 2 choices for a decade+, when one is doing poorly the other is soon to follow.

CNY is generally a “bad season” – Oct Hol.s, May Day (used to be Labor day Week), and the Congress meetings are also seasons of poor quality.

On the mobile it’s fine, it’s shut warmed up on my router though. Fucking why I paid for a private IP I’ll never know.

Me :woman_raising_hand:t4: It’s been infuriating to work with recently.

No problems, fine on both Android and windows for me

No problems at all, use the speed test function to choose the right server for you regularly.

Have had to switch occasionally between servers the last week or so, after connection would drag, but other than that, it’s been doing fine.
Don’t worry, it’s just your turn to be watched, will be over soon.

I never had any issues while using Astrill on my VPN router, but if you’re just using it on your PC and don’t need a VPN router specifically, then I would recommend getting familiar with shadowsocks or V2Ray services. They’re usually much faster, cost way less, and if you find a good provider never have any connectivity issues. I won’t share which specific provider I use, but I can watch 4K YouTube or Plex without any buffering. The cost is about 30-40 RMB per month for 400 GB traffic.

Guys please stop using VPNs!!! They are unreliable slow and not secure. I would highly recommend a shadowsocks or trojan provider.

Astrill is shit. I don’t care how many bribes the mods here get to plug it. I got it last year and it was so bad, I couldn’t even contact them to cancel without using another VPN. The issue is there are tonnes available for Android and iphone but not many I can see that work well on windows or Mac.

I’ve had bad experience with it since last August.
I am not extending my subscription.

make sure you have the most up to date version.

Same, for the last half a year it’s kind’a unstable. I have to change servers often, because connection speed might drop during the day. Another big problem is that it works badly with the instagram. Original audio often is not available and if you want to post a reel or stories - insta music button is not available too. I guess if you just post for yourself, you can live with that, but if you do freelance and you’re trying to make your content more engaging, it’s a huge pain in the ass. I addressed this problem to their support and they said that they don’t have a work around this problem. Well for 180$ a year they could do better.

hello!

ASTILVPN is currently not functioning properly.

First of all, StealthVPN is not connected to the server.

The following speed tests cause errors on almost all servers.

Only some servers that have passed the speed test can access OpenWeb.

I ask for help from people listening to this phenomenon.

I usually use LA/Seattle supercharged (I used to use HK/Taiwan/Japan but they haven’t seemed to consistently work for a year or so). I sometimes find that nothing seems to work.

The ones which are specifically for China don’t work in China.

The CCP got rid of express at last, now it is time for Astrill to get the iron fist, mark my words, move to other providers/set up your own vpn while you can.

Connection stability has declined recently, often have to reconnect or switch servers (on mobile).

The problem is that Astrill just shows it’s working and often you just end up stuck loading a webpage for a while before you realise it’s Astrill.

Portugal has been a blessing for me.
