i want to test versions of global protect but i dont want to activate it on all my users, to be able to download.
is there an alternative to download other from the firewall? ist available in palo alto support? so far my search yielded no where and support is saying just activate it, i cant do that so many people would complain for the slightest change
You can download it from the support portal.
You can also clone your Portal client config, limit this config to a group via user: and set upgrade behavior to transparent. Then disable upgrade on your user:any config and make sure it is below the upgrade config. wait 24hours to make sure all clients have gotten the new config and activate the new version. Works wonders
Log in to the Customer Support Portal.
Select Updates >> Software Updates.

I dont have access to the support portal or a firewall at this time, but it should be support portal → software updates → globalprotect agent for windows.
You set upgrade behavior in globalprotect portal → client config → app
