Forticlient on Mac - VPN Connections Lost Upon Upgrade

Today I noticed my FortiClient VPN was out of date, so being a good engineer I updated it to the latest version available on the Fortinet website. When the install completed, I opened up the console and was greeted with this lovely screen:

Needless to say I lost all of my VPN connections (granted it wasn’t much, about 8 of em) but just annoying to remember which ones I had in there. (I know, I know…save me the lecture about saving a backup of my configs before preforming an upgrade by simply hitting the “Backup” button on the settings page.)

I can’t remember the version I was on, but it wasn’t to far out of date. Now I’m running version 7.4.0.1645 of the “Free” version.

Anyone run into this issue before and know how to find the old config file or where said file is located so I can grab it from TimeMachine?

Pretty normal behaviour, at least on macOS (not sure about Windows). It’s worth to export the settings (connections) before upgrading.

Found where: /Library/Application Support/Fortinet/FortiClient/conf/vpn.plist
I just rolled it back from a Time Machine backup and “BOOM” all my VPN connections are back in there.
