since new zealand standard time (NZST) is one of the earliest timezones, we can use a vpn to get mayhem early! (this is because mayhem drops at midnight LOCALLY)

here’s a step-by-step procedure of getting mayhem early:

  1. download NordVPN on your phone and make an account to claim the 7-day free trial
  2. install the NordVPN chrome extension on your computer and log into the same account you used to claim the 7-day free trial
  3. change your location to new zealand via the NordVPN chrome extension
  4. open spotify
  5. click on your profile picture in the top right corner
  6. click account
  7. under account, click edit profile
  8. under country or region, click new zealand
  9. click save profile
  10. go back to spotify
  11. log out so spotify refreshes your location
  12. log back in
  13. check the countdown to see if it worked!

You’re forgetting to mention that you can’t change location if your payment method isn’t from NZ. Also it needs to be done on a browser. I made a new email/account so I have a Spotify free trial and set it to NZ and now the countdown is 19 hours. On my account it wouldn’t let me change location due to my US payment method

For steps 4 and beyond, is it all still on computer or phone? A bit unclear if you can elaborate. I can usually figure it out but got thrown off because you mention doing it on both on the beginning.

New music tends to drop at 3am local time so expect New Zealand to get it at 3am on March 7th. That’ll be 2pm UK time on March 6th.

You have to maintain a VPN connection so whether or not you install the VPN app on your phone or computer it needs to stay active and be logged in to a NZ server.

I just cancelled my NordVPN because the price was insane so now I have to wait the full time like a peasant.

I think New Zealanders need to learn how to upload the album on a google drive or mega folder as soon as it’s out in their time zone

Try Mullvad VPN! I pay 4 or 5USD for 30 days access on my phone and it’s a one time payment, doesn’t auto renew. The logo is blue with a rodent(?) with a yellow hat.
