Firefox Nightly for Android has finally implemented the feature most power users have been waiting for – the ability to install add-ons directly from .xpi files!
Accessing the Debug Menu:
Open Firefox Nightly and navigate to ‘Settings’.
Scroll to ‘About Firefox Nightly’.
Tap the Firefox logo swiftly five times. This will unlock the ‘Secret Settings’ in your main Settings menu.
Installing Your Add-ons:
Once you’re back in the main ‘Settings’ menu, you’ll see a new option: ‘Install add-on from file’.
Select the .xpi file you’ve saved on your device, and voilà! Your add-on will be installed.
It took years for Mozilla to finally understand that if people can install addon from file by going through many many menus, they’re knowledge enough to not install bad addons, that’s just simple.
one thing i want to be improved is download, good firefox is so shit about files I’m downloading. I always had to open up chrome when downloading a huge file
Exactly have been waiting for over 5 years now hoping they would atleast integrate a basic download manager but all they have to show is a notification banner. And guess what for me never in my life has the pause button worked. Pause basically means that after resuming the download, the file would become corrupted. So annoying
