DSTV with a VPN?

Hey guys, does anyone know how to get passed DSTV’s VPN blocking? I was using Ghost VPN and it seems to work for all of the streaming services except for DSTV. I’ve tried connecting to the Joburg server and I can’t even get to the login page on their website. The App on my iPad also has no luck with a VPN.

Any ideas? Gotta get this sorted before Saturday!

Have you tried lekkervpn? Specifically designed for South Africans and to give access to DStv.

Alternatively, get an IPTV box at your local Chinatown or Pakistani cellphone shop that gives you access to the entire world’s cable networks. You’ll have plenty of channels on which to catch the rugby and cricket.

If it’s the rugby you want to watch. Boot up your VPN to a country which doesn’t have sole rights to broadcast the rugby (I use Greece) Go to rugbypass.tv and sign up. You can watch the game from there

I have found an in-browser VPN works better than a separate app. I use surfshark.

There is a block? My mum regularly watches DSTV in the UK using my VPN profile. We use NordVPN and have never had an issue.

Have a look at Getflix smart dns service. You can try out a trial to see if it works. Works quite well for sites which “block” vpns

Dude honestly I just googled “pirate stream SA England rugby” and caught a kiff ITV stream while dealing with spuitkak at home last weekend.

Multichoice se gat. Just keep closing the pop-ups and you’re probably maybe good to go

Us your VPN and log into ITV hub (set it to the UK) and you can watch the rugby there. English commentary though so probably not very unbiased.

DM me I can tell you how I go about it.

On a side note the Ziggo TV sports package (Dutch broadcaster) costs R300 PM and has most of the sport that people are paying DSTV premium for to watch…

Installed a Mikrotik HAP AX^3 for a client wanting to use VPN. Long story short: Set up the VPN on the Mikrotik and created virtual networks for when they want to use the VPN and then use the normal networks to use “normal” interwebs.

I cannot stress enough just how much having your VPN run off a router helps. I haven’t tested whether it would work for DSTV but I do know that, unlike running a VPN off your desktop or from a browser, running it off a router allows far more leeway.

So here is what I did. Created an ITV account which is UK based, gave a Cambridge postcode. Subscribed to Hola VPN for one month. Set up the VPN as being in the UK. Sign into ITV which thinks I am in the UK. Watch rugby.

Try privatevpn. They have a 7 day free trial and you should be able to bypass with their dedicated IP option

DSTV is available on one of the Kodi repos, so then you pay nothing, just bit of time and sometimes frustrating, think the repo name is “the crew”. You have to install the full wizard to get DSTV sport channels

Assuming you want it for the RWC finals, you can try some options from this guy with a VPN: https://www.reddit.com/r/RugbyAustralia/comments/16nk21v/how_to_watch_rugby_world_cup_live_streams_for_free/

This. This right here. I’m watching in Canada and my cable provider screwed me over with some of the springbok games. Used RugbyPass with a VPN to Albania to watch commercial free.

Your mom has gotten lucky. They have the block precisely to stop that viewing because they don’t have the rights for broadcast in the UK

In Canada and same. Use NordVPN never run into an issue.

I used NordVPN in The Philippines and The Netherlands, my DStv access was impossible. I now use NordVPN in South Africa and even here my access is blocked and I disconnected NordVPN to enable payment. Maybe I should try different access points?
