Download Station trough VPN issue

I have a brand new VPN subscription with NordVPN. I need it to torrenting only.
But it doesn’t work…

**My config :**Nas uses a fixed IP.16881 port is OPEN as you can see :

Download Station Config :

I created a VPN connexion with a .ovpn file with this tutorial. I choosed a server which support P2P.It seems to be ok

BUT…

When I ty to download something, it goes wrong like that : It “could not connect to tracker”

When I to chekmyIPtorrent, it is the same : It “could not connect to tracker”

I’m quite desperate… I dunno what I’m suppose to do to fix that down.Thank you for your help

Hi, I used to use Nord for download station, I setup up the NAS network using the instructions you used.

That worked fine, until, I lost the VPN (it just dropped out) that meant I was torrenting but not through the VPN, I then got an email, from my ISP.

I then realised I needed some sort of tunnelling, Nord don’t seem to have this ability, the other useful thing would have been a kill switch on the nas, but kill switch only seemed to be for other devices.

Anyway, I then found a way, to use Qbittorrent vpn, through docker. That’s what I use now.

Sorry for the long, “intro”

I have just installed download station again, without changing, any settings, I see that you have upnp NAT setting ticked, I don’t but I do have Enable DHT network ticked.

I used a vpn, did you try doing this

Why are you opening port 16881?

Also if your NAS supports Docker i would recommend not using download station and instead go for a Deluge VPN setup in Docker. Download station will leak your IP address if your vpn disconnects for whatever reason. Also this setup sends ALL data on the NAS through the vpn, not just download station. Using Deluge VPN both these issues are solved.

Sorry i cant currently help with the no tracker issue. I dont speak french but do i see correctly that the torrent is downloading anyway?

Yes, I understand it could be a good way (docker, etc), but is there some tutorial I can use to set this up ?

(My NAS is Synology DS216j. I’m note sure it is compatible)
Thanks

I’m opening this port because it is said it could be useful for download station. (but actually, it was working without that. It’s only when I connect the VPN that the problem begins)

Unfortunately J series do not support Docker.
