Connect via terminal on mac?

Does anyone know of a way to connect to ExpressVPN using terminal?

I’m using the ExpressVPN app for Mac osx to route traffic for only one application using the ‘split tunneling’ feature. I need to be able to SSH into my machine remotely and connect and disconnect it to the vpn server.

This is a feature for Linux, it would be nice to be able to control the app from the terminal as well.

There is a command line interface called ‘expresso’ to control ExpressVPN on macOS.
