Can I safely disconnect my vpn after closing movie/app on desktop?

I have the official desktop popcorn time app on my PC. I always use a VPN when watching movies. When I play videogames I’d like to disconnect my VPN.

I noticed that when I close a movie it is still in the seedbox. I am assuming this means its still seeding. I cannot (safely) disconnect my VPN in that case right? What about when I close the entire popcorntime app? Will it continue to seed in the background?

When you close the app, seeding stops. When you restart app, the seedbox is empty. You can turn off seedbox (if you prefer) in ‘Settings’.
