I wanted to know what people are using these days… I had a VPN subscription a long while ago but didn’t want to buy another without a recommendation.
NordVPN works great for me in the UK, using it to stream netflix from the US, they have pretty good deals running all the time as well
This is a good place to start.
I’m not using anything right now but have used ExpressVPN, PIA and have run my own VPN server. The latter was a faff.
I tried ProtonVPN for a while but the performance was a bit rubbish. It may have improved in the 6 months since I tried it.
