Best free VPN Firefox addon?

I’m currently using Touch VPN.

It is acceptable, but I’m always looking around and I like to fiddle with my set up.

Any recommendations?

Proton VPN is a great free VPN, but usually on the OS level, rather than as a browser add-on. Doesn’t even require software downloaded on Windows 10 or Linux, can just use built-in VPN tools.

VPN’s cost money to operate, if you are using a VPN for free, you should be very clear on how and why it is being offered to you for free.

Every day you use that VPN it is costing someone else money, what incentive do they have to offer you something for free that costs them money to offer?

Also, VPNs aren’t typically browser extensions. Some offer browser extensions in addition to their primary VPN software, but most VPNs aren’t related to your choice of browser, and don’t depend on an extension.

Why an addon? Why wouldn’t you use an app native to your whole platform? I use Mullvad and it’s great (small, cheap, secure, private) but this is not sponsored.

Its browser addon can’t be used with free account.

It requites a subscription to use the extension.

Yadda yadda yadda.

Thank you Mister Know-it-all.

I’ve been using VPNs (on the job before I retired) since the early 1990s. Before you were born perhaps?

Both Chrome and Firefox have many free VPN extensions, and Opera has the functionality built in.

Anyone with answers to my question?
