Every vpn is already out for apple tv. Express is late to the party. You would think they would be first. As of right now, they are nowhere to be found.
Yes, we’re currently working on a tvOS app. We don’t have a specific timeline to share right now, but in the meantime, users who want to enjoy the benefits of a VPN on their Apple TV can already do so using our router app or Aircove, our hardware router.
Our VPN app for Apple TV has now been launched! Our new Apple TV app is included in the ExpressVPN subscription and will come at no additional cost to users.
Thank you, our users, for your understanding and support as we worked to enhance your experience. Your patience has been invaluable, and we are grateful for your continued trust, always.
Over the next few months, we will continue to make improvements to the Apple TV app. If you’d like early access to the upcoming improvements on our Apple TV app, you can sign up for our beta program.
How to set up ExpressVPN for Apple TV
Sign up for an ExpressVPN subscription if you have not already done so.
On Apple TV, go to the App Store and search for ExpressVPN. Select the ExpressVPN app and click “Install.”
Sign in to your ExpressVPN account by entering your username and password. Connect to any secure VPN location and stream your favorite shows.
Compatibility
The ExpressVPN app for tvOS is available to download on Apple TV devices running tvOS 17 and above. The supported models include 1st to 3rd gen Apple TV 4K and the Apple TV HD.
If you’re using an older Apple TV, such as the 1st to 3rd gen Apple TV, you will need to use MediaStreamer or our Router app.
Your feedback and suggestions are most welcome, and we’ll do our best to answer your questions.
Sorry @Expressvpn, as a customer for many years, a price raise followed by no release date for an Apple TV app, has made me switch to a different product. You should realize that VPN services are a commodity and when the product value drops, customers will flee.
Media streamer doesn’t work for all streaming services. AMC+ for example. MAX is spotty as hell. Please prioritize this! I am so close to cancelling express and getting a new VPN with Apple TV support
If only Apple were kind enough to release a pre-released copy of their software, so developers could test and submit apps quickly. That would be nice.
Would also be nice if Apple made a way to easily port apps from ios to tvos.
Oh wait, they do???
My annual subscription comes to an end next month, so this complete lack of preparation could not have happened at a better time for me. So long ExpressVPN. It’s not me, it’s you…
This is disappointing; what a lame response!! I was sure you guys will be ready at launch. Keep your Aircove where the sun don’t shine. You’ve just lost a 10+ years old subscriber.
I use an express VPN flashed router, so I can make do without the app. But it’s a pretty bad look not to have been working on this app and have it ready to go the day that tvOS 17 is released.
